[NL] Langs een schilderachtige fietsroute aan de rivier de Waal grazen koeien, vliegen spreeuwen, varen bootjes. Alles is rust, wat maakt dat het Nederlandse landschap makkelijk voor lief te nemen valt: telkens plat en wanneer niet begroeid met gras, dan wel bebouwd met industrieterreinen. Om de pracht van de buitenwereld te doen herontdekken heb ik een aantal korte teksten in het gebied geplaatst. Het zijn zinnetjes die zo vaak in zulke verschillende situaties worden gebruikt dat ze bij iedereen andere associaties oproepen, waardoor ze je op een andere manier om je heen doen kijken. Ze voeren als het ware een dialoog met de omgeving.

[ENG] Picture a scenic cycling route along the Waal river: cows grazing in the fields, sparrows gliding through a blue sky, boats passing ever so slowly. Everything is as restful as can be, which makes the Dutch landscape so easily undervalued. Flat for miles, covered either in grass or with industries. To rediscover the beauty of the Netherlands, I’ve placed a number of short statements in the area. Meaningless statements, loosely translated in for example Alright and That’s It: statements which are used continuously in extremely different situations. We all associate differently with these statements, making our experiences unique. The statements attempt to make you see the landscape as if you’d never been there before. Ultimately, their goal is to spark a conversation between the spectator and their surroundings.
